The Story of the World Vol. 4: The Modern Age, Revised Edition Audiobook
$33.11 – $51.81
The Audiobook brings history to life with this spirited reading of the Text by renowned narrator Jim Weiss. Save time by listening on the road or while preparing dinner, or let it lull the children to sleep at bedtime.
Product Overview
Investigate the fascinating story of the modern world, from the American Civil War through the end of the twentieth century – from Europe and the Middle East through India, China, the Arabian Peninsula, Australia, and both North and South America! Read by Jim Weiss, it can be enjoyed independently, read along with the Text, or used as a supplement to a traditional history curriculum.
Consider this: it’s almost time for lunch, your toddler is attempting to scale the mountain of laundry that hides the washing machine, and little Sally wants you to read her the chapter about the Space Race again. Do you really want to hinder her thirst for history? Of course not! But what about lunch? And that laundry won’t wash, dry, and fold itselF . . . No problem. Let Jim Weiss take it from here. He can read to your kids when you can’t!

I’ve spent an hour trying to get the files to play on my device. They do not easily open in any audiobook or music app.

I was so excited to receive this product in the mail. Unfortunately, I got it several months before we started listening and it wasn’t until well into listening to the CDs that we started noticing an error in the audio that sounded like a broken record. At first, it wasn’t too bad, but it got increasingly bad (but only intermittently) the further we got into the listening to the point where it was truly intolerable and my 5 year old started talking like a broken record (not sure if it was intentional to make fun of it, or he it was programmed into him). It was SOOOO an an an annoy oy oy oy ing ing ing ing ing ing! So I finally contacted customer service and they were going to make me pay $5 per disc to replace the discs with errors. I hadn’t kept perfect track of which discs it was (we were listening to a ripped version on my computer)! When I asked why I had to pay $5 per disc, they said it was too late to get a free replacement even though I was given the impression initially by the chat-bot that they knew of the problem and it could be replaced! Now tell me, what homeschool mom listens to an hours long audio book in one sitting which is meant to be listened to 7-8 minutes at a time?! I had to essentially buy the digital mp3 version of it all over again so ended up spending $70 to get a usable version of this. And that was when the digital version was on sale! At the very least, DO NOT make the same mistake I did by GETting THE CDs!
