Have enjoyed this so far content-wise. I’m giving it 3 stars because of issues with the PDF version. The workbook is not great for printing because even the background of the page is colored. However, an “optimized for printing” version was advertised as included in PDF purchases, so I wasn’t expecting any problems. After purchase I discovered that the optimized version is in grayscale. This baffled me since a simple settings change can print a color document in grayscale, but providing it only in grayscale gives no option. My children love color, so we’re working with the original, but it’s far from ideal for printing.

Math with Confidence has helped my child really understand math in a fun way! It has also helped me teach math better!! We purchased the pdf version and were able to print in colour, double sided with no issues. We are looking forward to using the Math with Confidence grade 2 when it’s available!

    Love This Curriculum

    Lorra Wells

I love this curriculum. It is easy to teach; the way that the text is structured makes logical sense. My son enjoys the math games and says that math is his favorite subject.

    Slight Issues with PDF

    blessed22190 (verified owner)

We loved the K curriculum so I don’t anticipate any issues with the actual content for First Grade. Like another reviewer, I’m disappointed with the lack of quality control on the PDFs. A true optimized/printer-friendly version was added, but there are other issues.
    1. All the covers are terrible, blurry quality. I was hoping it was just my PDF reader, but no. It prints blurry.
    2. Grayscale version has a color cover.
No issues with the K workbook PDF, so the First Grade PDF seems hastily slapped together.

  5. Question

    Tosha Boline

I am interested in the PDF version, but am curious if the background is going to print gray as in all of the comments? Or if this has been fixed/changed to have a blank background color? Thanks!

There will be a download for the regular version and for a printer-friendly version with a white background and fewer color bands. Anyone who owns the PDF and doesn’t have this on their account can send their order number to [email protected] and we can add it.

We do find that many families like it very well for their kids with learning disabilities. Here are some of the reasons they tell us they like it:

*There is just one worksheet every day; one side is review, the other side is related to the new lesson. If the student has difficulty writing, it’s fine to scribe for them.
*The worksheets can be limited because so many of the concepts are taught via games and hands-on work.
*The workbook is colorful, and the general style of the art is consistent.
*The unit checkpoints really help the parent know if they are ready for the upcoming unit.

We do have samples of both the Instructor Guides and the Student Workbooks. Just go to the relevant product page and look for the button underneath the illustration of the product. The samples can be very helpful in deciding.
