Shop Volume 4: The Modern Age

Introduce your child to the marvelous stories of the Modern Age in Volume 4 of The Story of the World. Who invented time zones, and what do they have to do with trains? Who was the Sick Man of Europe? Was a dog really the first living creature to go to space?
The text can be used as a read aloud for elementary students or as independent reading for students in the middle grades. Pick up the Audiobook for in the car (or jam with Kidzbop one more time, your call).

Turn it into a full-year curriculum with the accompanying Activity Book, (newly revised and updated in 2021!). The revised edition of Volume 4 now includes coloring pages, along with map exercises, review questions, curated reading lists for both fiction and nonfiction, research ideas, and fun crafts and projects (keep it simple and practice a few Kung Fu stances, or go all in and make a model of a self-propelled torpedo, your choice).

Parents of older students (third grade and up) can use the written tests to evaluate progress, with multiple-choice, short answer, and essay questions for each chapter.

These resources and more will help you spend less time prepping and more time learning and loving the history of Modern Times.
