Shop Volume 2: The Middle Ages

Watch the Middle Ages come to life in Volume 2 of The Story of the World. What did Beowulf do to the monster Grendel’s arm in battle? Why was King Richard called the Lionheart? Who discovered chocolate, and how do we thank them?

The text can be used as a read aloud for elementary students or as independent reading for students in the middle grades. Pick up the Audiobook for car trips (or listen to “Fruit Salad” again, it’s entirely your decision).

Turn it into a full-year curriculum with the accompanying Activity Book, which provides coloring pages, map exercises, review questions, curated reading lists for both fiction and nonfiction, research ideas, and fun crafts and projects (keep it simple by rewriting the Code of Justinian or go all in and replicate the Empress Theodora’s crown, we’ll leave that up to you).

Parents of older students (third grade and up) can use the written tests to evaluate progress, with multiple-choice, short answer, and essay questions for each chapter.

These resources will help you spend less time prepping and more time learning and loving medieval history.
