Make writing easier for you and your child…use Writing With Ease!

Contents

The Workbook contains two parts: the Instructor Section and the Student Pages.

The Instructor Section is divided into 36 weeks of instruction with four lessons per week. You get detailed directions and scripted dialogue with suggested student responses in every lesson, so you can teach with confidence!

The Student Pages are the consumable portion of the workbook given to the student for their writing assignment. Perforated for easy removal, the Student Pages have plenty of lined space for your student’s writing. (These included pages are the same as the pages we also sell separately: Level 2 Student Pages.)

Do you have more than one student? When you purchase the Workbook, you have permission to copy (or print from the PDF) the Student Pages as many times as you need for use within your own family. But if you want to keep your Workbook intact, or to save yourself the trouble of lugging it to Kinko’s, you can simply purchase an additional set of Level 2 Student Pages.

  1. Question

I started WWE level 2 with my 3rd grader mid-year. Prior to that he’d only been working with Primary Language Lessons without any other writing curriculum other than the occasional assignments I gave him. Should I fully complete level 2 with him before moving to level 3? He’s completing 3rd grade in 7 weeks but is only about halfway through level 2. Just trying to decide if we should skip and go into book 3 at the start of fourth grade without completing level 2. He’s typically an advanced student. He is a voracious reader and I find that is aiding him in spelling and writing. I don’t want to skip important content but also don’t want to fall behind unnecessarily. Thank you for any guidance!

  2. Question

Hi! My son is in 2nd grade. If we started with the WWE Level 2, would he miss out on concepts taught in Level 1 and, therefore, be confused? Thanks!

    • No, he wouldn’t miss out on anything. There isn’t a big “jump” between Level 1 and Level 2. The same basic concepts are taught, but the reading selections are a little longer, the vocabulary is a little more advanced, etc. He should be fine. If you’d like, you can check out the samples first to get a better idea of what a typical lesson looks like.

  3. Question

Does this book have the student writing in cursive or print?

    • The example student writing that’s shown in the book is in print. But your student could do his or her writing either in print or in cursive.

  4. Question

Any suggestions for how to teach the same level to two or more students at the same time?

    • To do that, you’ll only need one workbook, but you should get a set of the Student Pages for the 2nd student (the student pages are a pack of all the pages from the back half of the workbook…everything the student reads or writes on). You can explain concepts or do the read-aloud sections to both students at once, and then check their work as they individually write the various sentences, etc. You might also want to search our Forums (https://forums.welltrainedmind.com/forum/3-k-8-curriculum-board/) to see how other parents are doing this.

  5. Question

What level should a 2nd grader purchase?

    • Level 2 would probably be the most suitable. Take a look at the samples first. Also, here are the year-end evaluations from each of the four levels, to show you where we would like a student to be at the end of each of the four books: http://downloads.peacehillpress.com/pdfs/samples/wwe/wweevaluations.pdf
