Grammar for the Well-Trained Mind, Key to the Purple Workbook
$6.38 – $14.41
The Purple Workbook Key provides not just answers, but clear explanations and guidance. Be sure to buy the color Key that matches your Student Workbook.
Product Overview
The Key to the Purple Workbook, along with the corresponding color Workbook and the required Core Instructor Text, make up Grammar for the Well-Trained Mind: a complete course that takes students from basic definitions through advanced sentence structure and analysis – all the grammar skills needed to write and speak with eloquence and confidence, with the regular review needed for mastery.
Provides not only answers, but also explanations for the parent/instructor, and guidance as to when the answers might be ambiguous (as, in English, they often are).

FLL levels do not directly correspond to grade levels, but yes, Level 4 is the final level. You can start with any color of GftWTM, just make you get the matching color Answer Key and the Core Instructor Text.
Click here for video and transcript for Teaching Tips for GftWTM. You can find more for GftWTM (and other subjects as well) on these two pages.

Daphne La Rosa –
I have used Well Trained mind curriculum before but I am now looking at coming back. I have several ages. I am looking at FLL 1 for my 7 & 10 Year old. I have a 11 1/2, 13, and 14 year old as well. We have used a couple of different things and currently using Masterbooks but I am really liking this 4 book grammar set. I want to do it with all of them together so would we start with purple and all do it or should I have the 11 1/2 year old do book 3? she hasn’t had much formal grammar and last year was our first year in formal grammar.
Thank you 🙂

We have used all the levels of first language lessons and now, as my daughters are in middle school we are getting ready to use Grammar for the Well-Trained Mind. We are nearing high school and will soon need to be tracking grades for transcripts. My question is how do you track grades with this curriculum?

Would we need to get a separate writing program (such as IEW) or is this product complete grammar writing (like Rod & Staff Building English Series)?

My son is almost done with “First Language Lessons” Level 3 and he just turned 10. We went a little slow with grammar this year. Can I jump to start the purple book and skip level 4 of First Language Lessons??

What would be an approximate amount of time of daily instruction for a typical high schooler? Would I be off to say about 20 minutes?
