European exploration starts being discussed in the last several chapters of Volume 2 (Columbus, early voyages of exploration, the conquest of Mexico, the Lost Colony, etc). Volume 3 starts out with Jamestown and also the Spanish empire in South America, and proceeds from there. Volume 3 ends in 1850…and then the first few chapters of Volume 4 deal with the 1850s and 1860s around the world, including the United States civil war and reconstruction.

Does the paperback version of the student pages have perferated pages? I’m debating between purchasing the digital download and get them spiral bound or 5 copies of the paperback. Thanks

Yes, they are perforated.
I would advise either getting the Student Pages bound and perforated paperback, or getting the PDF and printing as you go (or a few weeks ahead). Some of the SP need to be cut, so they’d have to be taken out of the spiral binding. And, while you’ll use all of the maps, there are 167 SP and you likely won’t use them all (there are a lot of activities so people can pick and choose). If you want bound copies of the year’s work (I have many!), you might consider printing pages as needed, putting the completed pages in page protectors, and then take them out and bind them at the end of the year. Same general process works for the printed book, and you can use the page protectors again the next year.
