The Story of the World Vol. 1: Ancient Times, Revised Edition Audiobook
This spirited reading of Susan Wise Bauer’s The Story of the World Vol. 1: Ancient Times, Revised Ed. brings to life the stories and records of the peoples of Ancient Times, covering the major historical events from the beginning of civilization to the fall of the Roman Empire.
The Story of the World Audiobook is a collaboration between Jim Weiss, whose voice is “liquid gold” (CNN TV), and Susan Wise Bauer, whose writing has been described as “timeless and intelligent” (Publishers Weekly).
Enjoy this Audiobook independently, along with The Story of the World Vol. 1: Ancient Times, Revised Ed. Text (sold separately), or as a supplement to a traditional history curriculum.
Consider this: the baby is crying, raw chicken waits for you in the kitchen, and little Johnny wants you to read him the chapter about the Minoan Bull-Jumpers again. Do you really want to hinder his thirst for history? Of course not! But dinner won’t prepare itself…No problem, let Jim Weiss take it from here. He can read to your kids when you can’t!

Question
Is it easy to navigate by chapter with the MP3s? In other words, can I go directly to “chapter 11” or will I have to fast forward and rewind through the audio to get what I want?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
WTM Press Minion
Yes! Each chapter (and in some cases, each half-chapter) is its own MP3 file, so you can click directly on that. You don’t have to fast-forward through hours of audio to find what you need.

Question
Hi. We are a homeschool co-op studying history this year and will all be contributing towards the purchase of these audio files. Will it be OK to download one copy and distribute it between all students who have paid? thx
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Press Minion
No, that is not allowed; that would mean that each student had acquired the audiobook for a fraction of the price. Each student needs to purchase his or her own copy.

Question
I have the story of the world book. I need all the other parts of the bundle. What’s the best way to purchase just what I need?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Press Minion
You would want to purchase the rest of them individually: activity book, extra set of student pages, tests.

Question
Hi There
I’m not very technical and was wondering if you could help me out. I want to be able to download the MP3 files onto my iphone so my kids can listen in the car. I see below you need to download them onto a pc first and then synch in itunes. I have a very basic windows pc – will this work? Thanks, Emma
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Press Minion
Yes, it will work. If you don’t want to go through that process, there’s also a free app called “Documents” that you can put on your iPhone, which then allows your iPhone to unzip the ZIP folders that our audiobooks come in; that way you don’t have to go through the PC step at all. It can be downloaded for free at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/documents-5-file-manager-pdf-reader-and-browser/id364901807

Question
I see there’s revised versions of volume 3, and 4 being released within a year, and I am wondering if there will be revisions to volume 1 and 2?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Press Minion
Volumes 1 and 2 were already revised…we did it all the way back in 2006 & 2007. If your copy of Volume 1 has a wolf with 2 human babies on the front, it is the revised edition. If your copy of Volume 2 has Robin Hood on the front, it is the revised edition.

Question
How would i load and unzip the files to play on an Android phone?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Press Minion
When you open the link we send you, some Android phones will automatically unzip the files. If yours doesn’t, we’d recommend a reputable free app such as Files By Google. This article gives step by step instructions: https://www.lifewire.com/unzip-files-on-android-4178981

Question
Would this work on an iphone? or a chromebook?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
WTM Press Minion
Yes! Any device that can download a ZIP file and can play MP3s will work. Both the iPhone and the chromebook would work. But since iphones don’t utilize ZIP files…for the iphone, you’d want to download the files onto a laptop or desktop first, put them in iTunes, and then “synch” them with the iPhone. If you have any questions about this, please email support@welltrainedmind.com.
