  1. Question

I began this journey with the revised editions of activity book for volume 3 and 4 (and student texts). Now I’m circling around to the beginning and to volume 1. The activity book is so different… I’m wondering is there timeline images/cards anywhere that can be downloaded? Is there a volume 1 revised edition that is set up more like the volume 3 and 4 activity guide?

Only Volumes 3 & 4 have a very recent update (2020 and 2021). Volumes 1 & 2 will be next, but I don’t have a publication schedule to share yet. We do not have timeline cards (although some people use the Review Cards for this purpose), but if you search for timeline cards with the full title and volume, you will find some sources on the internet – some free, some paid.

    Misprinted Student Pages

    Rebecca (verified owner)

After making lesson plans and page requirements for our homeschool co-op (since families need their own activity books), it was discovered that the student page numbers are misprinted. After looking through the reviews there was a reply to a review with a document that has the corrections, but the fact that ***this corrected list was posted in September of LAST YEAR*** and ***they are still selling the misprinted batch to new and unsuspecting customers*** is the reason for the low review. At the Very Least, the corrections should be posted publicly somewhere where customers can see and access them without searching through replies to reviews. Or stop selling the misprints!!

The first 8 chapters have incorrect Student Page references, and I apologize for any frustration or inconvenience caused by that. As the Student Pages are grouped by chapter, and the error is limited in scope, we thought it was better to issue a correction rather than send good books to the landfill. In addition to the ecological impact, reprinting books comes at great cost, and we strive to keep our books as affordable as possible.

Supply chain issues are still very much in play, so it also remains difficult to source both paper and printing services.

While this does not excuse the error, I hope it helps you understand our decisions. We inevitably fall short of the perfection we strive for, but we are sincerely sorry about the incorrect page references in those eight chapters.

We actually do have a public Corrections page, and you can click here to get to it.

I hope your families enjoy the book and have a great year!

Yes, they can. The references to Student Page numbers won’t match, and there will be additional pages in the Revised Edition Student Pages that aren’t mentioned in the original Activity Book, but you can mix and match editions.

  4. Question

    Megan Sobbing

The corresponding map for Chapter 25 is titled Armies in China but shows a picture of the Mediter. Sea & Egypt from the previous chapter, so the described mapwork for this is not possible. Is there a corrected edition of this Activity book available in PDF for those who have already purchased the book?

The corresponding student pages aren’t always the right ones written in the activity project or parent guide. An example, West Against East “Medical Records” activity is written as being on page Student page 10, but it’s actually on page Student page 12. The timeline figures are on student page 222, not SP 181 as written in the parent pages. The Parent Pages definitely need to be reorganized. The chapter review comes before the outline (which is the first student page of the chapter), the map work comes after the outline and all of the additional references listed, when it’s the second page of the chapter activities. The content is good, but it is very disorganized.
