$7.58$16.11

The Creative Writer, Level Three builds on the foundation laid in earlier volumes. Exercises scaffold on each other, empowering the writer to complete full creative pieces in both fiction and poetry.

Product Overview

The Creative Writer, Level Three builds on the foundation laid in earlier volumes. Learn to use the fiction toolbox of plot, character, setting, point of view, and dialogue with even more assurance and skill; study the advanced application of meter, rhyme, line breaks, subject, and word choice in poetry. Each volume contains directions and instructions for the developing writer, as well as detailed guidance for the mentor or teacher. Exercises scaffold on each other, building towards the completion of full creative pieces in both fiction and poetry.

Ernest Hemingway says, “Before I read The Creative Writer, I knew nothing about the craft. I was going to give A Farewell to Arms a happy ending. But then Boris Fishman taught me everything I needed to know about writing, editing, revising, bullfighting, marlin fishing, and the way that northern-Italian pasta tastes when you eat it cold, in the autumn morning, as you wait for the Austrian artillery to begin firing at your trench.”

    Hello,
I am looking at the Creative Writer series. In some of the descriptions it states the courses are for middle and high school students, but under the grade levels it only lists through 8th and at the beginning of the book it is catalogued as Elementary and Middle school.

I am looking at this as an elective for my daughter who will be entering high school next year. I just want to make sure it would be considered high school credit for her transcripts. I hope this makes senses.

    Thank you.

I would recommend Level 2 or 3 for a high school student. Level 2 will review Level 1 techniques at a pace appropriate for an older student. Level 3 does review, but is more suitable for a writer who has some familiarity with creating characters and knows the basics of things like point of view, scenes, and so forth.

I’m sorry about the confusion, we will take a look at the descriptions.

Hello, what level should a grade 11 student start with who hasn’t had much experience with creative writing? Thank you.
