I am sad to learn this version is becoming obsolete. I have used this to teach all of my children to read and loved having just one book to keep track of. My boys state they did not mind sharing a book with Mom either.

I notice that the revised edition is in two parts – an instructor book and a student book.
Is this the case, or is this an all-in-one, stand-alone book?
If the latter, how are the student activities handled? Does the instructor hand over the book to the child, and have them write their answers on paper?

This is the original version, and the student and teacher are using the book at the same time (so you have to be sitting together). Any writing or drawing, by student or teacher, is done on flash cards or paper. The student will mostly use the magnet board and letters.
The Revised Edition is in two parts, with both the Instructor Book and Student Book being required.
