Ditto on not getting off of Marta in East Point!!!

World of Coke, Atlanta History Museum, Aquarium, your oldest would be bored at ImagineIt, Stone Mountain (if it's not too cold, it's mostly outside), CNN Center

In addition to all the above great ideas we love the Carlos Museum at Emory. Not sure about the public transportation situation. It has amazing ancient Egypt, Greece etc exhibits and it free (suggested donation only).

Default We ate at the Varsity two years ago...

I think they call it the world's largest hot dog stand. It was fun. But the most fun part was that we had driven through the night from Missouri with our 3 kids because we told them we were going to Atlanta because DH had a conference there. Instead...we arrived there right around noon on dd's 16th birthday and in walked her grandparents (who had driven from Tennessee) carrying a birthday cake with her name on it and we got to tell the kids that instead of going to a conference we were on our way to Disney World for DD's 16th birthday and the grandparents were going, too. Sorry for this fun sidetrip down memory lane (as well as the extra long sentence.) Dd was so excited when she saw the grandparents that she knocked ds off the booth onto the floor trying to get to them.
